  • SAP has 3 client copy methods which are specified below - Local client copy - to perform client copies inside same instance. Remote client copy - to copy client between different SAP instances. Remote client copies the data immediately across the network using RFCs.
  • The report RSCCEXPT is the advanced configuration of SAP client copy.Roughly, the report enable you to activate special client copy copy options and exclude tables from the copy.You can get the page settings from transaction code SE38 or SCC9 / SCCL (from the top menu, go to Edit Expert Settings).

Overview With SAPBASIS 7.54 (SAP S4 / HANA 1909), SAP delivers new client management tools based on new common architecture. They are a complete redesign of the previous client copy (transactions SCCL, SCC9, SCC5, ). The new tools completely replace the old client copy and also offer new functions. Using SAP SCC1 client copy transaction to copy data between clients is not rocket science so i will be quick. First login to the client you want the data to be copied into. Maybe you have made some changes in client 100 which are now in a transport and now you also want the changes in client 200. Therefore log into the target client 200.

Symptom

  • Remote client copy fails with error : '63999 table too wide'
  • Table entries is greater than 63999 Bytes : <Table_Name>

Using SAP SCC1 client copy transaction to copy data between clients is not rocket science so i will be quick.

First login to the client you want the data to be copied into. i.e. maybe you have made some changes in client 100 which are now in a transport and now you also want the changes in client 200.

Therefore log into the target client 200

Execute SAP SCC1 Transaction code

Execute SCC1 and and enter the transport number, source client. You can use the F4 help to find the transport or list all ones in your name

Press the “Start Immediately” button

If you ticked the test Run it will report if it ran successfully. Simply deselected the “Test Run” check box when ready and press the start Immediately button again

You then just get the same “Program ran successfully” message as the test run and that’s it, all done. When you go back you will be able to see some log details about what was copied.
